The Brief
Peter Gibbons is a Historical Fiction and Fantasy Author and distinguished winner of the 2022 Kindle Storyteller Award, found his creative stride during the confines of the lockdown, delving into his passion for storytelling.
Peter has always been an avid reader of history, both fiction and non-fiction.
Peter and his wife Fiona entrusted Kola Digital with the task of breathing life into a new brand identity and a book author website.
The Process
We met Peter and his wife Fiona and discussed what they would like in the new brand identity and the book author website functionality.
For the brand identity we wanted to encompass the style of the books, but also Peter himself. We wanted his name to be recognisable and memorable, and to reflect his personality and literary genre to create an impressive website design for authors
We presented ideas and themes to the clients. A style was chosen to feature Peter’s name with the style of the book genre and achieve a design at the level of books by Irish authors.

This book author website was designed to showcase Peters books which is the main selling point of the website.
It is a book author website that reflects Peter’s personality and talent. The website also offers the possibility to buy the books directly from the page, or to access other online sales platforms.

The website is an example of website design for authors that aims to capture the attention of the readers, generate trust and loyalty, and increase the sales of the books.
It was a challenge for us to develop a website specialised in books by Irish authors, as we had to balance the aesthetic and functional aspects of the site. We wanted to create a website that was attractive, user-friendly, responsive and fast. We also wanted to highlight the quality and uniqueness of Peter’s books, and to create a connection between the author and the readers.
We used dark colours and features to represent the style of the books.
We were not only impressed by the project, but also by the books of this Irish author. We were captivated by his stories and his writing style. We felt honoured to work with such a talented author, and to help him reach a wider audience. We are very proud of the result and we hope that the website will be a success for Peter and his books.
