Hi my name is Aidan Ryan, i am 16 years old. I studied business during my years of junior cycle, and while not as interested in some other areas of the subject, marketing always caught my eye, ive always wanted to make my own business where i sell furniture when i leave school and i decided if i am going to make a business for myself i might as well learn a bit about entrepreneurship and digital marketing, so that led me to Kola Digital.
What did I work on during
my internship at aDigital Marketing Agency:
During my internship here in kola digital i discovered the ins and outs of how a digital marketing firm such as Kola run, I worked on a report, which involved me learning about the different areas of Kola Digital.
I developed posters for different events using canva to make them, I shadowed one of my co-workers to learn how to go about posting an advertisement on social media platforms such as facebook and instagram.
We proof read some documents to check for spelling or grammar mistakes, and we made a radio advertisement for KFM.
The different areas of digital marketing I was involved in:
Throughout this experience i was involved in the development of Social media posts, the development of advertisements, we also researched A LOT online to find out different things about different businesses, we also saw the development stages of making logos for a business alike.

All these are only some of the many skills involved in working at a digital marketing firm such as Kola Digital, i really have learned a lot working here and i have enjoyed working here so much.
A typical day at Kola Digital:
A typical day at Kola Digital would go something like this:
I’d enter the office at 10 am and i would say hello to Krystle and whoever else was there on the day and grab a cup of coffee or tea before sitting down and opening Trello to see whats on the agenda today, once i find my task i would begin working on it, for my experience it was mainly working on captions for different posts for facebook and instagram, and i would also be working on canva making different posters for different events too, id get a break then around 12.30pm to 1pm and then id continue work up until 2pm and that would be my day.
Campaigns I worked on:
I worked on creating captions and posts for Relay For Life and that was very enjoyable, I used canva to make the posters and wrote the captions on microsoft word, I also helped work on an advertisement campaign for relay for life too, We worked alongside one of our co-workers, to help with making an ad and a sting for the KFM radio, Relay For Life was the big project this week and im so glad i got to help the team with working on it with them. We also got to visit a clients place of business, it was great to be able to see it in person, and get a tour around.
My favourite part of the experience:
My favourite part of this experience was the people i was working with, going into the office and always seeing a bunch of smiling faces made the atmosphere of the office feel more like a home, everyone was so eager to help and learn new things and being part of the team nearly felt like being part of a family, i really enjoyed this week of working with Kola Digital and I would definitely recommend working or getting experience here if you have a big interest in digital marketing.
How has this internship helped me understand the marketing industry:
Well it has helped me as i got to see how much work goes into making logos, designing posters, being part of the developing team and just how it feels to work in the marketing industry, It was fun! I really did enjoy every minute and the experience i got just from what i did this week makes me think that if i was to do this long term it wouldnt take to long to get even slightly good at digital marketing as a whole.
I learned plenty of different skills as ive listed in the above sections, but as well i learned what its like to work in an office and meet deadlines, what its like to work as a team on big marketing campaigns, and making posters are all vital skills that ill most likely have to use in my future, this experience was really useful and ive learned plenty of new skills and techniques about making ads and posts for social media, im really grateful for this opportunity and im so glad i got to work here for the week.
